京都南部に位置する木津川市でアートフェスティバルが開催されます。

ボランティアベース運営でみなさん文字通り獅子奮闘し開催まで10日となりましたが、
来場者の皆様をお迎えすべく開催準備に勤しんでいます。

私は現在裏方として動き、開催期間中はツルツル頭と自分のキャラをフルに使い
ご案内係りとして木津川アート2011を楽しみたいと考えております。

第26回国民文化祭・京都2011 木津川アート2011
「まちが語る、アートがうたう。」

京都府木津川市は、山城町・木津町・加茂町の３町が合併して2007年に発足しました。
そこには、万葉の時代からはぐくまれた文化が、私たちの誇りとなって受け継がれています。
この新しくて古いそして美しい街をアートの力で再認識するのが「木津川アート」です。
木津川市内の使われなくなった建物、何か懐かしい風景、アートを感じさせる空間で、展示やパフォーマンスが行われる11日間。

Kizugawa Art 2011 - in KIZUGAWA CITY, KYOTO JAPAN

The traditional culture of Japan flourishes in Kyoto prefecture. Down in southern Kyoto, however, there is a suburb called Kizugawa city where history merges with the modern. 

Kizugawa city began when the three towns Yamashiro, Kizu, and Kamo joined together in 2007.

Here, a culture that is over a millennium old is passed down as our pride. At the same time, this city has been experiencing dynamic changes especially since the union of the three towns. 

To recognize anew this city that is modern, yet ancient, and beautiful at once through the power of art, we have created Kizugawa Art.

It is an eleven-day-long event during which all kinds of art and performances are exhibited in singular and expressive spaces found throughout Kizugawa city. A building that has become unused, a scenery that is somewhat nostalgic - Kizugawa's unique spaces, filled with memories and signs of life, become a part of the art, and the city is turned into an imaginative gallery.

Participating artists, who have been chosen out of many applicants, come from all over Japan. It is intriguing to see what these diverse and outstanding artists take in from and reflect back into the environment around them.
We take a keen interest in the meeting of modern art and Kizugawa’s memory-filled spaces. 
Through this event, we wish, for one, to create opportunities for people to discover, or rediscover Kizugawa city – and bring people together in a community.
